| Eagle E-Type Lightweight Speedster Announced Posted: 25 May 2011 07:25 AM PDT Eagle has announced that its E-Type Lightweight Speedster will make its debut at the Salon Prive in London. Powered by a 4.7-liter six-cylinder engine that produces 310 hp (231 kW / 314 PS) and 340 lb-ft (460 Nm) of torque, E-Type LS is glaringly inspired from the Jaguar model. But it comes up with a bit of muscular styling, fresh classic detailing, and performance matching with that of a supercar. The engine is connected to five-speed manual transmission, which enables the roadster to accelerate from 0-60 mph in less than 5 seconds. Besides, it can hit a top speed of 160 mph (258 km/h). You may be wondering what made us to ask our viewers this. Let's make it plain.  Ford is reported to have geared up for a new car seat that features a heart-rate monitor! It can measure your pulse through the clothing from sensors on the seat back, which in turn can be used for safety systems or to instruct the driver. Want to know how it works? The six embedded sensors connected to the seat detect electrical impulses generated by a heartbeat which will further be used to identify cardiovascular problems experienced by the customer while driving. The project is a joint venture between Ford’s European Research and Innovation Centre in Aachen, Germany and Achen University’s Rheinisch-Westfalische Technische Hochschule (RWTH). The technology will, no doubt, be of immense help in a scene when the number of older drivers on road appears only to increase.

Here, we have for you exactly that. Powered by a 29 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery, you could easily travel up to 170 kilometers (107 miles) in any of three prototypes on a single charge. Equipped with ceramic composite regenerative brakes, an electric air conditioner, a revised instrument cluster and an active sound system the trio is almost sure to hit the mark. One model comes up with two electric motors with an all-wheel drive system while the other two prototypes features one electric motor and a rear wheel drive system. The two electric motors gives the former a combined output of 180 kW (241 hp / 245 PS) and 540 Nm (398 lb-ft) of torque. It enables the Boxter to reach up to 100 km/h in 5 seconds. Further, it can hit a speed of 200 km/h. Coming back to the other two prototypes, an electric motor that produces 90 kW (121 hp / 122 PS) and 270 Nm (199 lb-ft) of torque helps them to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 9.8 seconds and attain a top speed of 150 km/h (93 mph).
