You didn't answer my question. Can you work for two companies processing your green card at the same time. I am working for employer A for 13 years and EB3 green card process pending for 8 years. Now while working for Company A, Can I start green card process through Company B(for part time work) and do porting to EB2? Please clarify. I am not intending to quit immediately after getting Green Card, I will work for 6 months after Green card for Company B(for part time)?
Is this legal to work full time for one company and part time for another company(I have EAD), both of them are processing green card at the same time? Is there a chance of getting RFE's OR Is there a chance of getting your original application getting rejected because of multiple employments and two green card process's at the same time.

Yes. They would need GC copy and they would update their records.
Your employer is responsible for keeping a track of your status, not yours. You may provide them a copy of your new status, but you do not have to, unless they ask for it.

With the attitude towards immigration in this country, i really doubt this bill will pass :(, i really hope it does though, i think the USICS is a strong believer of "sabar ka phal meeta hota hai", translated, the fruit of a long wait is sweet, i just hope the wait is not too long and the fruit rotten
Also, i am ready to help/organize/contribute for the community to make these bills pass....

However, the congress returns in September and IV Core will update us on the situation. There is still no reason to believe that this is bill is completely dead, so keep checking IV site and when there is an update from Core, put in your effort AND get your friends involved too.
You can actually start getting your friends in similar situation involved right now. Get them registered and get them to read up on IV in general. The only way we can get any reform is by numbers. I hope you have already joined your state chapter and look forward to your continued presence and contribution to IV.

I have earlier contacted Atlas to verify if they are registered with any state's Department of Insurance. They did not even reply.
IMO, it is better to buy an Indian Insurance. For American insurance, the only way to make them pay is go to court against them but with Indian Insurance, you can lodge claim with Insurance Ombudsman in India which is fast and effective. The only flip side is, US medical facilities might not recognize Indian insurance (though most Indian insurance collaborate with US insurance for claim processing)

Finally I am a US citizen after being 10+ years in this country. This is one of my biggest fulfillments and it means everything to me. US is just not home anymore for me, it is my country.

Wow, you must have written some letter... This is the first time that i have heard someone getting a call about NC from the presidents office.
You are right.. I got a call this Wednesday from the Presidents office of initiating an inquiry on my case and again a repeated call from them on Friday that FBI Name Check has been cleared. I forgot to mention this detail in my excitement.

Stronger support from our members, will definitely help us push this agenda item. IV feels that this issue is going to be a big roadblock for a lot of us now, after people have filed their I485s. It is possible to get a much wider bi-partisan support on this issue by us and we are already pursuing it.

usually..the banks give the rate the day the money was deposited in the indian bank..not the day you initieted the transfer..
make sure u got tht rate..and how much do they charge for transfer..
i am sure they have a customer service where you can ask the break up of charges applied to you..without CS, they wont be in this business..tlk to CS,

Not being judgmental at all. This is a question that has to be posed to the HR department in the company and not to 'peers' on a forum. The profile says he/she is on EB2 and then he/she goes on to ask this

Q-1 (07//19/2007): I filed I-485 application on July 2, 2007, but have yet to receive either rejection or receipt notice. Will this application be fee'd in under the reversal of the USCIS decision?
A-1: The DOS withdrew any changes to the original July VB and assumedly visa number is current in July 2007 for any categories other than "other worker." Accordingly, the 485 application which you submitted on July 2 cannot be rejected by the USCIS at this point. The USCIS is likely to fee in your application and soon issue the Receipt Notice.

We must send some flowers ............ with just a little bit of pixie dust sprinkled on them ....... may be that would do the trick .... if that doesnt work ....may be we could send a high level delegation of the most accomplished enthusistic EB2 freaks to DC ......
If that doesnt work EB2 folks especially the disenchanted should sue and get a constitutional amendment..... If that doesnt work .... well .... you can put a finger up you freakn @!# and pray for a miracle

There is Buy Rate and a Sell Rate. The Buy rate is about 50-60 Cents less than the Sell rate. You get the buy rate when you send money...
I have sent money using icicibank's M2I service . Usually they take 5 working days to remit the money(atleast 8 days to transfer). I made four transactions last week(mon, tue, wed, thu) and they already remitted the money using low conversion rate.
It just took less than three days to remit the money this time. Bank deliberately did this just to steal money from me. I have lost more than 35 paise per dollar and it comes close to Rs 10,000. This is ridiculous and its a big robbery.
How do i get my money back? How do i make a compliant about this bank? They have no one to assist me over the phone.
What to do now?. Rs 10,000 may look too small for us. But how can we let banks to act like a criminals.
Any help/suggestion/comment?

Anand, there is a conference call scheduled this Friday. Pls join the conference call and pour in your ideas. Sure if your ideas are good and conceivable Core team would defly work on implementing it. Dont be an outsider, try to get more involved. Again if you want to be part of the Core Let Aman & Co know, they should be able to delegate you some responsibilites.
Just like you, everybody is frustrated with the lack of progress. But we do understand our limitations, we can only educate the lawmakers with our issues, but we cant arm twist them to do something favorable. We have to keep our expectations right. As Logiclife told if big corporations like Microsoft cant achieve what they, want who are we? Does this mean we shld quit and resign our fate. Live another day, Fight another day till we achieve what we want.
I contribute, i participate in the calls, i write to the reporters, i send faxes and emails to Senators/House Reps, Appear in Newspaper & Radio interviews and most of all Spare a Prayer to God to improve my situation. update,
Called POJ today, explained that i have 2 I-140's, IO verified and said i am current and visa is available, took my I-140 number and sent an email to the floor. Dont know what floor means. She actually said "she is glad that i called". atleast now, she confirmed by Finger Prints which went to Vermont because receipt starts with EAC are back and uploaded into the system, namecheck is clear too...She took my A numbers from I-140 and I-485. Fingers crossed.
Will wait for this week to pass before i apply for AP renewal.

This might come as a surprise to some of you, but someone needs to say it out loud. GET A LIFE FOLKS!!!! there is more to life then EB, GC and all. it seem all we desi's can think of is how to get a green card so we can live here with peace and never have to worry bout getting laid off or anything.
Few points:
1) having gc is a privilege not a right.
2) US has every right to choose whom they want to have in their country.
3) If getting PR or citizenship of a western country is the goal there are many countries which have a fair point based system.
4) Considering the number of fraud's committed by Indian body shoppers and people who use them, i am not surprised USCIS is extra careful when it comes to Indian applications. Anyone who got his wife with no exp with software dev an h1b visa from some cheat in Jersey knows what i am talking bout . My freind got his wife an H1 after showing she knew software testing even though her major was fine arts and all she was good at was web surfing :)
5) have a back up. i came here in 2001 as student and have seen it all. I am on h1b since 2004. i knew we have too many people whose sole aim in life is a American GC. to avoid becoming one of those who check processing dates first thing in morning, i applied for Canadian PR, got it in 8 months and i am not even gonna bother applying for labor, i-140 and all those precious life controlling documents.
Wake up friends, you have options. Don't let your life depend on you application status.
