- Audi Q3 S in the Works

- Jeep Pick Up Delayed
Posted: 29 Jun 2011 06:42 AM PDT Audi has plans for the Q3 S. That could mean that at a time when BMW is talking about X1 M, Audi is likely to reply with Q3 S. The possible cross over vehicle from the German automaker will be run by a 2.5-liter five-cylinder turbo with 300 PS (221 kW / 296 hp). Apart from the engine modifications, we hope Audi will impress customers with the SUV's improved styling, a sport-tuned suspension and bigger brakes. This crossover vehicle, the smallest of Audi's Q series of SUVs, will utilize the VW Tiguan platform. It is likely to be offered in both two and four wheel drive variants. Auto buffs would be excited to know about the engine variant of Q3. But they might have to wait for the Fall of 2012 to drive one. (Via WCF)
Audi Limited Edition TT-RS Heads for Australian Motor Show Posted: 29 Jun 2011 06:37 AM PDT The official unveiling of the Audi Limited Edition TT-RS is likely at the Australian International Motor Show. Audi had made about 45 units of this automobile for Australian customers. The limited version would equips 7-speed S-tronic transmission and also claims to have made many value additions to the car. The seven-speed dual clutch transmission will allow the Audi TT-RS to race to a speed from zero to 100 km/h in just about 4.3 seconds. If you didn't know, this is 0.3 seconds faster than the 6-speed model. For the highway speeds, the TT-RS has seventh gear designed as a high-geared overdrive that cuts down on fuel consumption by just reducing engine speed. The S-tronic transmission is integrated with a built-in launch control function. The company has limited the peak speed electronically to 250 km/h. A look at the power department would bring to light that it has been left unaltered. The 2.5-litre five-cylinder TFSI engine returns 250 kW (340 PS / 335 bhp) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque.
Posted: 29 Jun 2011 06:34 AM PDT If you are a patient customer waiting for a successor to the Scrambler, you are in for some disappointment. For, this highly expected vehicle from Jeep is seen as put on the backburner – at least for a while. Jeep CEO Mike Manley has been quoted as saying that the company is still in recovery mode and are very careful with investments for the time being. With resources fully dedicated to small vehicles and toward Fiat tasks, there seems to be no one to work on the Jeep pickup . Though the company understands there is a genuine interest in the US for a pickup, Jeep believes that there is enough potential for them in the international scene even if the pickup is delayed. We are yet to ascertain a schedule for the Jeep pick up to finally come. Stay tuned for more on that. (via WCF)
