The Golf GTI 16S comes across as a racing machine that takes off from the 1977 Golf GTI. Sporting a 1.6 liter unit instead of the usual 2.0 liter TFSI, the car will have within itself a power plant that generates 215 PS (158 kW / 211 bhp) and coupled with a 5-speed racing gearbox from VW Motorsport. Further, the model will also boast of a Billstein chassis and an 80-liter fuel tank. Meanwhile, the VW Golf24 will be presented as an endurance racer.

We have our eyes trained on Golf GTI Edition 35, which in fact will be presented in celebration of GTI's 35th anniversary. To boast of more power than the standard GTI via the revised 2.0-liter TFSI petrol engine that returns 235 PS (173 kW / 232 hp) instead of the usual 210 PS (155 kW / 207 hp). This model which will go into production has been made available for order in Germany. You may go ahead if you can part with €30,425.

We guess we needn't tell you that BMW is almost ready with their 2012 M5 model. Believed to be a production version of the M5 concept from the BMW stables, the car comes with some amazing features that could make any motoring freak to sit up and plan his next buy.

The company has now made public a video of the car being tested. The new official video captures the high speed testing conducted at the Nardò Ring in Italy. We have been expecting to see the vehicle at the Frankfurt Motor Show, but then the new video suggest that it could be unveiled at the M Festival soon.

Though full details haven't come by as yet, we have managed to know that the car will be pushed out of the assembly line with an aggressive body kit, a sport-tuned suspension and a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 with approximately 575 PS (423 kW / 567 bhp) and 720 Nm (531 lb-ft) of torque.

The car will also sport a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and might offer all-wheel drive at a later stage.

Audi A2 Reborn; Heads for Frankfurt

Posted: 01 Jun 2011 06:22 AM PDT

Did you know the Audi A2 is on a comeback? The reborn A2 will see the light of the day at this year's Frankfurt Motor Show. In fact, from what we get to hear, a production model of the A2 is gearing up for Frankfurt.

Designed to rival the 2013 BMW i3, the A2 has been built as a fully electric vehicle that will sail on a lightweight aluminum chassis. In case you have forgotten, the original A2 was dumped way back in 2005, citing high cost of its aluminium spaceframe chassis. However, the reborn model is most likely to retain the aluminium frame. Now that also means that the Audi A2 will come for a higher price.

Complete with an MPV style exterior, the car appears to be extremely flexible and might launch as early as 2015. Look forward to this one mean machine from the Audi stables.
