2012 Mosler Raptor First Details Out

We have for you here the first details of the 2012 Raptor formally announced by Mosler. However, don't get excited yet – for only a little information has been revealed.

The Mosler Raptor for 2012 will have under the hood a 7.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that will churn out 650 hp (485 kW / 659 PS). The vehicle is said to be designed to compete with the supercars in the world, though the engine details does not impress us.

Mosler aims to create a vehicle that will be lighter, more powerful and faster than all previous cars from them. It has also been mentioned that the automobile has been specifically built to compete with the Pagani Huayra.

The Raptor will only weigh 2,500 lbs (1,134 kg). Well, if that is the case, then it will be 476 lbs (216 kg) lighter than the Pagani Huayra. Let us also add, the pictures you see alongside are those of the Mosler MT900 GTR XX. The new car's pictures are soon to come your way. Stay tuned.

 

Kia Motors’ US Production in Acceleration Mode

In keeping with the increasing demand for its vehicles, Korean car maker Kia Motors Corp has stated that it has plans to increase the production capacity of its US. assembly plant by 20%.

The expansion projects have already been kick started at its factory in West Point. This is estimated to increase the total annual production to 360,000 vehicles by next year. This includes plants stamping, welding, paint and general assembly shops.

The company has already announced earlier that it would begin producing its Optima mid-size sedan in the U.S. Following the announcement, the company has revealed their plans of increasing the production capacity.

Kia is already enjoying good growth in the US. Sorento is the best selling vehicle over there and the Optima's demand is also climbing. The shortage of Japanese cars following the tsunami also added to the increasing demand for autos from Kia.

Coming Soon: Alphanumeric Monikers for Jaguar Models

Jaguar plans to adopt alphanumeric monikers. Well the adoption of the new naming system is said to avoid confusions.

The company’s global brand director has said "If you know us, you understand our badging. Otherwise it’s confusing.”

Though it has now been said that the new badging would do away with confusion, we still arent very sure as to  whether the new monikers are meant to be a overall change or just an addition of numbers to the current names. Stay tuned as we get you more details on that.
