| Hyundai Elantra Coupe Gears Up for LA Debut Posted: 08 Jun 2011 02:55 AM PDT Some recent reports indicate that Hyundai is all set to unveil its Elantra coupe at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The model will be powered by a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 148 hp (110 kW / 150 PS) and 131 lb-ft (177 Nm) of torque. We have been hearing some rumors of an R-Spec variant, which could adopt the turbocharged 1.6-liter engine from the 2012 Veloster. If so, Elantra R-Spec will feature 208 hp (155 kW / 211 PS) and 265 Nm (195 lb-ft) of torque, under the hood. The model will be facing stiff competition from Honda Civic coupe, unveiled at the New York Auto Show earlier this year. As you can see in the pictures, the model is heavily camouflaged. No matter, one could easily figure out that the seven-seat variant is inspired from EX and Etherea concept. Earlier, official sources had said that the JX will feature “a stunning interior”, exceptional seating flexibility, easy access to the roomy third row, and the latest in-vehicle technology – including next-generation telematics. Infiniti is reported to have been on plans to unveil a JX concept at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. However, the production model will be introduced only at the Los Angeles Auto Show. JX will eventually be launched probably by the spring of 2012. So, stay tuned to know more. via (wcf)

| Mazda BT-50 Freestyle Revealed Posted: 08 Jun 2011 02:19 AM PDT For all our Mazda fans, we have for you some fresh news. Gear up. Well ahead of its debut at the Australian International Motor Show, Mazda has unveiled the first pictures of the BT-50 Freestyle. Check out. The extended-cab variant features rear-hinged doors whereby you could easily enter the cabin. Though the rear seats doesn't look quite comfortable at the first instance, Mazda reiterates that the cushions have been lengthened by 50mm and the seatback height has been increased by 128mm. Further, the bed holds 1,453 liters (51.3 cu ft) of cargo which is 266 liters (9.4 cu ft) more than the current model. There has been no word on the price yet. However, BT-50 Freestyle is expected to hit the markets later this year.

| MINI Coupe Tentatively Revealed; BMW Releases Official Details Posted: 07 Jun 2011 07:06 AM PDT BMW Group has officially come up with details on the upcoming MINI Coupe. MINI Cooper Coupe comes in four different engine variants including the range-topping John Cooper Works edition. MINI Coupe is 3,728 mm long and comes with a wheelbase measuring 2,467 mm. The front track is 1,459 mm wide and rear-axle track comes in a width of 1,467 mm. The John Cooper Works (JCW) edition will be powered by a 1.6 liter turbocharged engine with an output of 155 kW/211 PS (207 bhp) and 280 Nm (207 lb-ft) of peak torque while the MINI Cooper S Coupe features a 1.6 liter turbo unit that develops 135 kW/184 PS (181 bhp) and 240 Nm (177 lb-ft) of torque. The JCW can hit up to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.4 seconds and has a top speed of 240 km/h (149 mph). Fuel consumption is 7.1 liters/100 km (39.8 mpg imp) with a CO2 emissions quotient of 165 g/km. On the diesel front, there is MINI Cooper SD Coupe with a 2.0 liter diesel engine capable of an output of 105 kW/143 PS (141 bhp) and 305 Nm (225 lb-ft) of torque. All variants except the MINI JCW Coupe feature a standard 6-speed manual transmission and an optional six-speed automatic!

| Porsche Cajun to Offer Powerful Diesel Engine Posted: 07 Jun 2011 06:38 AM PDT Any Porsche fans out there eyeing a Cayenne Junior, popularly known as Cajun? It has been a while since we heard of an upcoming Cajun. However, Porsche's silence regarding the same had made us wonder. What made us to share this with our viewers is a new report indicating that the model will offer a powerful diesel engine. Before going into details just have a look at the snaps alongside. The model is expected to be powered by an Audi-sourced 3.0-liter V6 that develops 313 PS (230 kW / 309 hp) and 649 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque. The engine is all set to make its debut in the facelifted Audi Q5. Compared to the 3.0-liter V6 currently used in Cayenne that produces 250 PS (184 kW / 247 hp) and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque, the new variant promises better engine performance. Stay tuned. | RSC Raptor GT Turns Predator GT with Updated Design Posted: 07 Jun 2011 06:26 AM PDT Finally, Rotary Supers Cars (RSC) has come up with all new Predator GT following heavy criticism that the Raptor GT was just an altered copy of Ferrari 599XX. Powered by a four-rotor Wankel engine based on the Mazda 13B MSP that develops up to 1,200 PS (883 kW / 1184 hp), Predator GT adopts a Lamborghini-esque styling. Further, the engine will be connected to an eight-speed sequential transmission, which enables the 1,100 kg (2,425 lb) supercar to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in less than three seconds. As of now, there has been no official announcement on when the new model will be out. The company had also planned to unveil a Raptor GT prototype in late 2010, which never happened. Hence there is only limited room for speculation!
