2012 Honda Civic 5-Door Spied Testing In European Alps

We have for you the latest spied shots of the upcoming next-generation 5-door hatch Honda Civic. Have a look.

The two 5-door hatch prototypes that you see in the picture above were caught testing in the European Alps. The heavily applied camouflage succeeds well in hiding the design lines of this new compact competitor.However, we could assume that the new model comes up with a lot of changes. The overall shape says so!

Next-generation Mazda Miata To Be The Lightest Version Ever

Mazda Miata is best remebered for being one of the world famous lightweight cars. Now, the news is that the next generation model will be even lighter than those available in the markets.

Reports indicate that that engineers have been tasked with cutting at least 720 lbs (327 kg) from the current curb weight of 2,480 lbs (1,125) kg. This means the model will weigh just 1,760 lbs (798 kg).

As part of making it lighter, Miata features a high-strength steel body, a smaller engine and a minimalist interior. Besides, the glovebox and owner’s manual would be replaced by a digital version on a USB flash drive.

Though all these sounds good, it remains to be seen whether Miata will be able to achieve the target weight.

Mercedes-Benz Baby SLS – New Details

Any one out there eyeing some news on Mercedes-Benz baby SLS. Gear up.

Reports from authentic sources indicate that the so-called SLC will sport up to 500 PS (368 kW / 493 bhp) and be positioned as an arch-rival to the Porsche 911. However, you will not find the gullwing doors of the larger SLS AMG model. But, the good news is that you need to spend just €100,000, at the maximum for an entry-level model with around 350 PS (257 kW / 345 bhp).

To cut the long story short, there are two possibilites. Either the model will be a successor to the SLS replacing it in 2016 or it will be an introduction of its own in 2014.

Let's wait and see.
