Chevy Sonic RS in 2012

It seems Chevrolet's Aveo RS Concept gears up for production. Have a look at the pictures added alongside.

Aveo RS Concept was unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit last year. The car seems to closely resemble the concept and feature an aggressive body kit, a revised suspension and beefier brakes. Further, it will powered by a turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine with 138 hp (103 kW / 140 PS) and 148 lb-ft (200 Nm) of torque.

Expected to be launched late next year as a 2013 model, it is likely to feature massive grille, three-dimensional taillights, brushed aluminum accents, and 19-inch wheels. Inside, the concept boasts a luxurious interior with leather upholstery, metallic accents, and gloss black trim.

Meanwhile, Chevrolet announced that the 2012 Sonic will be priced from $14,495 in the United States.

e-Wolf Alpha-2 Specifications Unraveled

Putting an end to all the speculations, e-Wolf has finally released preliminary specifications for the Alpha-2.Check out.

Under the hood, there will be two electric motors with a combined peak output of 381 PS (280 kW / 375 hp) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. Alpha-2 can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and can hit a top speed of 230 km/h (143 mph). The variant has a range of up to 300 km (186 miles) on a single charge.

As you know, Alpha-2 was previously known as the E-2. Earlier, reports have suggested that it looks like a futuristic Lamborghini and will be a four-wheel drive vehicle powered by four high-performance electric motors with direct couplings.

Expected to cost around €245.000 ($350,750), pre-orders for Alpha-2 will be accepted shortly.

VW of America Rules Out Volkswagen GTI Edition 35

Volkswagen of America has made it clear that it doesn’t want the Golf GTI Edition 35.

Instead, they have been reportedly planning do their own special editions. To them, the GTI is creating very good customer response over there and they don’t need special editions to move it.

The GTI Edition 35 is powered by a revised 2.0 liter TFSI petrol engine (a detuned version of the 2.0 liter TFSI unit in the Golf R) that develops 235 PS (173 kW / 232 hp) – a gain of 25 PS over the 211 PS (155 kW / 207 hp) of the standard GTI.

Volkswagen faced several impediments on the way while introducing the model to United States as being offered in Europe. For instance, sports seats did not meet federal safety standard. Further, the front spoiler which VW of America believed was too low for US roads.

However, the variant is available in markets like Germany carrying a price tag of around €30,425.


BMW Z2 Likely to be Launched in 2014 as an AWD

We are happy to let you know that BMW Z2 could be launched as early as 2014. Have a look.

The model, which would be based on the upcoming front – wheel drive UKL1 platform, also features an all-wheel drive to fix the handling tradeoffs.

BMW Z2 is expected to be powered by a variety of 2.0-liter engines that have outputs ranging from 170 PS (100 kW / 168 hp) to 272 PS (200 kW / 268 hp).
However, it may also be delayed until 2015 or 2016, using the rear-wheel drive platform from the 2-Series (the renamed coupe and convertible variants of the 2012 1-Series).

Though no official announcement has come, the Z2 is likely to be offered as a coupe and convertible.

Lexus LS 460 Touring Edition Unveiled for US

Lexus has unveiled the LS 460 Touring Edition for you. Gear up. Have a look at the pictures added alongside.

As you can see in the picture, it seems to be targeting the younger customers. The smoky granite mica exterior with a revised grille, a subtle body kit and 19-inch alloy wheels pertains to it.

Coming to the interiors, there is two-tone leather upholstery, sport seats and matte brown wood trim.

Lexus desperately need to update the design of the LS. It looked fresh 5 years ago when it first came out, but it really hasn’t aged well. So, this might well be an attempt towards something new and adventurous.

Expected to cost around $73,000, the variant is likely to hit the markets by the end of this month.
