Do you know if these are 485 or 140 applications? Would be nice to know these numbers by PD and how it compares to pending applications for ROW.

Here's an anecdote -
This was back in the late 80s, when I was growing up - in Bangalore.
India had just lost the Finals of a well fought [field] hockey match to Pakistan. We were all very disappointed by the loss, but it saddened me further to see a victory procession with waving Pakistani flags in the Muslim parts of the City.
Ofcourse, India is a secular country and more so the United States.. and you can cheer whoever you please..
But, If you chose to become a US Citizen, and US were in a battle with your country of Origin (let's narrow it down to Sports, to keep it less complicated), which country would you side? If I chose to side with my country of origin, it would make me a hypocrite, wouldn't it ?

This is not a waste of time. CNN really cares about rating and I am pretty sure for many people like you and me, CNN is the first stop for news. If they realize that we are a force to reckon with, they will think twice before airing such shows. By signing nobody is expecting, CNN firing Lou Dobb's but at least CNN will be careful airing these baseless facts..That's all we need..attention and fairness..espeacilly when they claim they are the most trusted name in the news..

As you may know, we are just one more week away from hosting Advocacy day in Washington DC where about 170 members of Immigration Voice will conduct nearly 250 meetings with offices of Senators and Congressmen. Such events cost money. If we have enough contributions, we can spend as per our budget of nearly $ 50,000. If not, we will have to cut back on the event spending and reduce the magnitude and size of the event.
If you are not coming to DC next week, please do your part and contribute funds to Immigration Voice. It not only finances the event properly, it instills pride and confidence in the members who will be there in DC that there are thousands of willing supporters behind them who could not be there physically but are 100% with them in their determination and resolve.

I-485 is mostly about the eligibility of the individual (like medical, illegal presence, fraud etc.) and so getting rejected at I-485 stage is not that common (especially after the approval of the underlying immigration petition). And if it does get rejected, more often than not, the individual may never be eligible for permanent residence due to the same reason. So usefulness of H1-B as back-up is of very limited narure.
100% agree...If I485 gets rejected at later stage that means there is a good chance that no other company or second application can fix it...

some sort of recapture is better than none !!! we should try to have some relief for EB but let us not stand in the way of FB ..the reason is simple, unused FB visas overflow in to EB (if I am not mistaken) ...In fact that is one of the reason that EB2 India did not move much this year since they are more efficient with FB visa this year (see the pace at which it is moving this year as opposed to last year) so better to wait and watch.

Recapturing unused EB visas and allocating them to FB is absolutely not a good idea for EB category people. If such a thing happens then there will be no unused visa to be recaptured for EB.

Do you know if labor substitution for future employment is possible.
I am working with company A and company B have labor approved with 2003 priority date. I want to work with company A till my I-140 labor substitution application (from employer B) is approved by uscis.

FRAGOMEN and the American Council on International Personnel (ACIP) will continue to work with the government at all levels for some kind of relief, but again the form of any potential relief is uncertain."
Why is the above important? Because it's a window into their mindset. Like any responsible corporate firm they wanted to sound a little empathetic but didn't want to give false hopes by saying a reversal was possible though they probably knew the outrage among potential filers who had been dealt a nasty blow below their belt. But VB disaster was one issue where there was not even the slightest doubt that what had happened was horribly wrong and cruel that even some cold-hearted anti-immigrants were confused for a day or two and didn't know what to say because they didn't want to pile on our heartache. The way CIS works had, like any bureacracy over time become a cold and heartless beast but since they deal mostly with non-citizens who have little rights and feel so unsecure and unwelcome in the first place to ever speak out, they were never going to know how their actions are wreaking havoc on their customers lives. So unless affected people come together and act they are never going to know how bad it sucks to be on this end of the divide. And ofcourse it's not all CIS - they are just an arm of the government carrying out the law. it's going to be next to impossible to do anything without congress stepping in. And while Fragomen is definitely not lying when they say they will work for some relief and probably are given that their partners often show up on congressional hearings, they won't lose sleep over it nor will their passion levels be anywhere near that of those who are directly at the receiving end of this current ugly messi.e iv and it's browsers. Complaints and complimenets are both important.
I guess, what logiclife is doing is right. It is correct to defend the organization and also respond to personal attacks in a befitting manner.
When i joined this organization, the only thing on my mind was to be part of the force. I was not expecting anything dramatic out of this. I cannot alone do this job, so i thought why not be part of the team which has committed to fight for a just cause.
Instead of infighting, let us unite and offer suggestions for better results.

I work for a medium sized (employing about 500 employees in USA, another 2000 ouside USA), public (New York Stock Exchange) listed, business technology consulting company, which has been making losses for last 3 years. My I-140 was filed last month. Do I have to start worrying?

If you are not in india, then you are somewhere to earn more than you do than in india. So investment is safe if you can afford to invest in that property without a loan. If you are taking a loan you are getting ripped off. STOP there.
to me agricultural land is next to investment in gold. agri land always holds value(sale value) or appreciates over time. Always you can get decent return by farming something there. So my belief is you always get 6%+ return on investment over short/long period of time.
city properties are just a ripp off. So get only one property if you want to live for yourself.. Investment of say 50 lacs on a flat(condo), may give you a good rent. But for how long? and what % of interest you pay on that loan? And what will the aging affect be on that flat!!...
that way land | house is better choice!
To me below are investment items first the highest safety + return(decreasing order or preference)
1. gold(other precious metals)
2. treasary bonds../govt assured accounts
2. agri land(either in india or US, in is labor is higher)
3. city independent houses
4. select mutual funds
5. stock market

even after entering US on Advance Parole.
Followup questions:
1. Is the I-94 # on your New H1B Approval same as the I-94 which you got
when you entered US on Advance Parole?
2. I am sure that your Attorney might have mentioned that last manner of
Entry into US is "Paroled" when he filed for your H1B transfer.
Please confirm this.
3. Finally, did u get any RFE for your H1B Transfer?
