AC21 is a law but certain provisions of AC21 have been introduced in separate memos.
Job portability under AC21 is also part of a guidance / memo - so if any AC21 case goes for hearing in an immigration court, any change of employers while 485 is pending is considered illegal. This is not very common though.

I am sorry, not a computer guy, but can mass mailing for funding alerts from IV be possible to "loyal customers only"? I am not sure I am giving the right idea/ thought. But what I am thinking is lets say this Administrative cost re-imbursment works, can we send to selected 1000- 2000 non-core member like anzerraja or khodalmd (for example) and ask them to send money? Like how these sticky works...just a solid click and send money sticky. Or I dont know ask everyone...see how many people come in and divide the money...it can be 100 or more.

Though most people here would want retroactive action, I think such a rule will only be applicable for applicants based on a cut off date that will be a future date.
Thats how all laws have been in past.
This is something that is most unwelcome by employers and lawyers and thats why this may have opposition. Especially those consulting companies that thrive on these things.

K , I see two views by two different types of folks.
View #1: This system sucks. Its not fair and just. America is a great country and land of immigrants and we chose to immigrate here. Lets work on this issue so that I myself and folks such as myself now and going forward do not have this problem. I will do what ever it takes. I personally feel that regardless of the outcome, it gives immense self satisfaction to commit to meaningful cause. Others might not feel so, but all of us believe that this problem needs to be solved and do what ever we can do.
View #2: Some people come resigned with the idea that they will be looked down. Now My question is what do you want to accomplish on IV if you do not want to work on the issue, If you do not want believe in the core principles of this organization. If you think that immigrants are treated like dirt and again if you believe in that and because you are an immigrant in this country, you should have been putting up with a treatment like dirt, do you have an iota of self esteem?? Seriously, If you really believe what you are saying why do you even want to be here now? or why do you even want to have a backup plan that will again make you a immigrant some where else?? $$$ over ride self esteem Huh? As that is not the case and some of us has chosen to work with the US Congress, you consider us folks who dont have a life. I think you got a very good point here.
If India is really good economically, people from all over the world would be going there and find job.
There are people from even poorer countries coming to India for education and employment and so.
I agree that property is getting expensive by second in India, Some times it makes me think, most of us who wants to go back might not go back for wrong economical resons, Don't you think this is what happened to many people who migrated to African countries before Indian Independence. Most of them never visited India in their life time(I attribute most of them to economic reasons). I am not if this is a paradox or anticlimax.

As you may know, we are just one more week away from hosting Advocacy day in Washington DC where about 170 members of Immigration Voice will conduct nearly 250 meetings with offices of Senators and Congressmen. Such events cost money. If we have enough contributions, we can spend as per our budget of nearly $ 50,000. If not, we will have to cut back on the event spending and reduce the magnitude and size of the event.
If you are not coming to DC next week, please do your part and contribute funds to Immigration Voice. It not only finances the event properly, it instills pride and confidence in the members who will be there in DC that there are thousands of willing supporters behind them who could not be there physically but are 100% with them in their determination and resolve.

How can people write this kind of information. Even I have come through and Indian company and I used to pay all taxes here which includes, Federal, Social, State etc.,
This should end. People here should know that we are paying all taxes. And we are paying Social Security tax as well. Because of retrogression we don't yet know if we would get our green card. We still pay for it and we don't take a dime of it if we have to go back to India.
We are helping the elders to have regular pay and this is what we hear? If there is a way as our friend said we should confront this legally.

I have sent money using icicibank's M2I service . Usually they take 5 working days to remit the money(atleast 8 days to transfer). I made four transactions last week(mon, tue, wed, thu) and they already remitted the money using low conversion rate.
It just took less than three days to remit the money this time. Bank deliberately did this just to steal money from me. I have lost more than 35 paise per dollar and it comes close to Rs 10,000. This is ridiculous and its a big robbery.
How do i get my money back? How do i make a compliant about this bank? They have no one to assist me over the phone.
What to do now?. Rs 10,000 may look too small for us. But how can we let banks to act like a criminals.
Any help/suggestion/comment?

Long term USA bonds are toast. You can short them instead of buying.
Why should China/Taiwan/Arab get out of Gold? There are no strong indicators for doing that for now.
I cannot stop but laugh at your insistence that USA is global economic engine. More than half of the population is in deep debt and their population is ageing fast. Students can't borrow money now on easy terms to dund their education. THere is virtually no appetite for more debt to fire the economic engine at all.
Physical gold and silver is best to possess.
Equity is down 20% to 30% in developing world and 50 to 70% down in emerging world over 7 trading days, but gold/silver/platinum is just hanging on there, so get out of commodities which would not help you at all, best option is stay in long term USA bonds for security or buy south east Asia bonds which would be right choice for long term
70% of precious metals are owned by banks and government which do not have liquidity to buy, even current price supportd is provided by China/Taiwan/Arab sovereign funds. those govts might get out of gold any time then price will drop to 2005 range.
