Design Contest--Maaco Fremont Racing Team

Maaco Fremont and AENE Automotive Racing announce an open competition to design graphics to be used on Maaco Fremont cars, banners, flags and promotional materials. The top 3 entries will receive plaques recognizing their achievements and have their work featured on Maaco Fremont's website, international press, YouTube channel, Facebook page, Blog, Tweets and advertising. First Place winner will also be featured on cars themselves and will receive a free, top-of-the-line, Signature Base Coat/Clear Coat paint job (up to $1400.00 value) or a check for $500.00.

Contest Rules:

1. All entries must be submitted in the form of JPEG, PNG, GIF and/or TIFF files to Maaco Fremont by USB Flash Drive, XD or SD memory card:

Maserati GranTurismo coupe and convertible are undoubtedly some of the most beautiful GT cars on the road. This new car, looking to the casual observer, like the GranTurismo tin top, too. But look a little closer and you’ll start to know exactly what this car really is.
Our spy photographers are not sure what the car is, nor are we – although judging by the large rear spoiler and more centrally mounted dual exhausts, this could be a mule for a high performance version of the GranTurismo more. The standard car has quad exhaust pipes
more fitted to the corners of the rear facade, rear diffuser and a slightly different sub-carts too.
An even more performance GranTurismo does not look very well at first, like the GranTurismo S has already fulfilled that role. The GranTurismo MC S Line Sport car limited edition for the Middle East was the ante a bit, though. But the real tell-tale signs from the GranTurismo MC Corse GT4 race car that has the same configuration and arrangement of exhaust spoiler as the spied car, while the road version here does not have the extreme front and rear splitter / diffuser combination found on the race car. This might suggest a street-legal version of the pilot, not unlike the BMW M3 GTS. We’re not sure how that would sit down with the bosses at Ferrari Fiat franchise partner, but it is certainly a welcome idea for us.

The decklid spoiler raised spied the model is unusually subtle for a race car, however, that we may be seeing just a facelift of the car undisguised. Unveiled in 2007, the GranTurismo is due for a facelift light, but would expect these minor exterior alterations to be all that is coming – mechanics, the car must remain the same with the current 450-hp, 4.7-liter V-8 continues to power of the car rear wheels through an automatic transmission.

Maserati had its flagship GranTurismo S to even higher levels of performance with the creation of the GranTurismo MC Concept.
Designed just like a track day special, it boasts significant changes in style are designed to improve aerodynamic efficiency, without spoiling the elegant lines of the original model.
The Maserati Corse Concept features two large air intakes designed to improve the flow of air from the engine and brakes, combination air input / output integrated into the bonnet and guard pumped to accommodate the biggest clue.
The side profile underwent extensive aerodynamic testing and incorporates new side air vents connected to the side skirts similar to the Nissan GT-R to channel hot air from the engine compartment around the car.
The rear exit dual exhaust has integrated into the rear diffuser and spoiler to a much steeper angle to complement the effects of aerodynamic splitter added new front.
Maserati Racing Department engineers almost completely removed all traces of the original interior to save weight and added an FIA approved roll cage, Sparco racing wheel, racing seats and carbon panel and control console.
Corse Concept runs a highly tuned version of the 4.7-liter V8 engine of the GranTurismo S, which now develops 510 Nm and 330.9kW to 4,750 rpm.
This was achieved by installing a high performance system air consumption combined with an exhaust system equipped with a catalytic converter type of race.
The end result is a total weight of less than 1,400 kg and a power to weight ration of less than 4.2 kg / kW.

2006 Maserati Quattroporte with Auto Paint Service, Wet Sand & Polish

Today's Car of the Day is a 2006 Maserati Quattroporte that came in with scrapes & scratches plus some minor original paint imperfections. Maaco-Fremont repaired the scrapes and painted the rocker panel using the same type of high quality waterborne finish used at factory. We then "cut and buffed" various panels to eliminate surface scratches and to provide a more premium gloss finish.

Maserati Wins 2010 FIA GT1 World Championship

2010 FIA GT1 Champion Maserati Team & MC12s

Maaco-Fremont celebrates Maserati's win in the FIA GT1 World Championship. GT racing is, in our humble opinion, the greatest racing in the world because it features cars that can actually be purchased and driven on real roads. Previously Maserati has won 5 consecutive FIA GT Manufacturers Cups from 2005-2009 with their dominating MC12. In 2005 Maserati beat 2nd place Ferrari by nearly 2x in the points standing! And now they have won the inaugural FIA GT1 World Championship, beating Aston Martin (another favorite), Corvette, Ford GT (okay, they are all favorites), Lamborghini & Nissan GT-R.







Maserati is near and dear to the hearts of the crew here at Maaco-Fremont for 3 reasons.

The first, of course, is that Maserati has produced some of the most beautiful and fastest works of art in the history of man (we'll excuse them for everything that happened in the 1980s & 1990s.)

Second, since 2008 it has been a dream and is actually written into the employee manual & the business plan that Maaco-Fremont will procure a Maserati Quattroporte to use as a customer courtesy shuttle. It was supposed to happen in Dec. 2010 but the past couple of years have been economically tough for everyone in the world as well as us here at Maaco so the plan has been pushed back. 2011 looks to be a good year for business and we are hopeful.

Third, Frank Barnard, Maaco-Fremont's President, bought a Maserati-engined 1973 Citroën SM as his second car. Citroën is the French auto manufacturer that owned Maserati in the late 1960's and early 1970's. The SM was Citroën's flagship as well as a platform for the Maserati Merak.

Maserati MC12 Beats Ferrari Enzo

We have a soft spot for Maseratis at Maaco-Fremont. A Maserati Quattroporte is on our wish list as a shop passenger shuttle (it's been on the wish list for 3 years and counting). The Maserati MC12 happens to be one of the most beautiful cars ever made. That it is also one of the fastest is icing on the cake. This video is from our friends at Britain's Top Gear. Enjoy.
