Under the hood, there will be a 2.5-liter V6 with 182 hp (136 kW / 185 PS) and 232 Nm (171 lb-ft) of torque as well as a 3.5-liter V6 that develops 251 hp (187 kW / 254 PS) and 335 Nm (247 lb-ft) of torque. Expected to be built on the D platform which also underpins the Nissan Maxima / Nissan Teana (JDM), it looks like a toned-down version of the concept car, introduced at the Seoul Motor Show recently. SM7 is likely to be available as a new flagship Renault model in Europe shortly. Meanwhile, rumors say that it will be out under the name Safrane. | Honda CR-Z Mugen In Action [Video] Posted: 15 Jun 2011 04:19 AM PDT We have for you a video of the Honda CR-Z Mugen, expected to debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed next month. But, before that have a look at the snaps below. The performance-oriented hybrid model is the culmination of a joint project by Honda and Euro Mugen. CR-Z Mugen will be powered by a supercharged 1.5-liter engine and an IMA hybrid system that together develop a total output of around 200 PS (147 kW / 197 hp) and 181 lb-ft (245 Nm) of torque. Besides, it can accelerate from 0-60 mph (96 km/h) in just 6.6 seconds. So, let's wait for the Goodwood Festival of Speed scheduled between July 1 and July 3 at the Goodwood Park in the UK. | Volkswagen Beetle R Gears Up for Frankfurt Debut Posted: 15 Jun 2011 04:06 AM PDT Some recent reports indicate that Volkswagen Beetle R is all set to make its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. Have a look at the pictures below. The model is expected to feature a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with approximately 240 PS (177 kW / 237 hp). If so, the output will be less than the Golf R’s 270 PS (199 kW / 266 hp) but more than the 200 PS (147 kW / 197 hp) offered in the Beetle Turbo. Further, the variant comes up with front-wheel drive, a sport-tuned suspension and the usual styling tweaks. Zenvo and Red Sea Distribution have teamed up to create a limited edition ST-1 for the United States. Dubbed as 50S, it will be powered by a supercharged 7.0-liter V8 engine that produces 1250 hp (932 kW / 1267 PS) and 1500 Nm (1106 lb-ft) of torque. Further, the engine is paired to a seven-speed transmission which enables the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in less than 3.0 seconds and hit a limited top speed of 375 km/h (233 mph). Zenvo ST-1 50S comes up with magnesium wheels, monogrammed seats, an individually numbered plaque and a complimentary Aspen watch that has a retail value of $49,000 (€34,125). As of now, it is known that production will be limited to three units with one each in intense red, crystal white and Mediterranean blue shades. 50S is expected to cost around $1,800,000 (€1,252,300). The model features a slightly upward-sweeping shoulder line and fully framed front doors which are clearly not production ready. Earlier, reports have indicated that the model will be offered with a soft top. If so, the canvas roof should ensure the car is lighter and more fuel efficient than a hard-top variant. Expected to be available with a variety of engines and a sport-tuned suspension that resembles the setup on the Astra GTC, the production model will be launched in late 2012. Stay tuned. (via WCF) |
| Audi R8 GT Spyder Officially Unveiled at Le Mans Posted: 14 Jun 2011 05:05 AM PDT Finally, Audi has officially unveiled the R8 GT Spyder at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The lightweight model will be powered by a 5.2-liter V10 engine that produces 560 PS (412 kW / 552 hp) and 540 Nm (398 lb-ft) of torque. Further, it is connected to a six-speed R tronic transmission that enables the 1,640 kg (3,616 lb) roadster to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.8 seconds. It can hit a top speed of 317 km/h (197 mph). The exterior features include a carbon fiber front spoiler, a carbon fiber rear wing and a carbon fiber rear diffuser. Moreover, ride height has been reduced (10mm) from the standard R8 Spyder 5.2. Other highlights include titanium gray accents and tinted LED taillights. Coming to the interiors, the cabin boasts of Alcantara upholstery, carbon fiber trim and sport seats that weigh 31.5 kg (69 lbs). Expected to cost around €207,800, the production will be limited to 333 units. |
